The concept of my work in 2007 (Tsutsumu Katachi - Wrapping -)

I have always been fascinated with the formative beauty of nature's ecosystem surrounding my life. It is like seeing a competition for natural selection in the landscape, played out as a drama of life. It shows the lasting and selective beauty of every moment. Plus, light and air support this beauty, running through it's inside.

- Light and air are invisible existences -

The key concept of my artistic production is to offer stimulus for the viewer's imagination of invisibility beyond visibility. Therefore the form of my work should devote itself to become minimalist, as if by natural selection, and should catch air and light to make it possible to sneak in the natural beauty. The transparent structure is important to take air and light in.

In our daily lives we can see "Tsutsumu Katachi" (Wrapping) everywhere made by invisible forces; a curtain billowing in the wind at the window, a fishnet floating under the sea, a spider's web shining in the breeze...
When these invisible powers pass through them, it indicates a vivid sense of existence.
